JIM SNYDER, Libertytown Members Honored at FCVFRA AWARDS

Several members of the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department were honored at the annual awards ceremony of the Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association held on Monday, April 20, 2026 at the Walkersville Vol. Fire Company. Jim Snyder, a life member and active fire police was inducted into the FCVFRA Hall of Fame. His dedication to respond throughout Frederick County to assist at emergency scenes was highlighted with his noted response of over 300 incidents averaging nearly a call a day in 2025.
Firefighters Ryan Carey and Stephen Glandorf were honored with a unit citation for actions at an extensive extrication on I-70 on May 25, 2025. Firefighters Glandorf and Cary accompanied "A" shift personnel on the response on I-70 to assist New Market on a tractor trailer vs. box truck personal injury accident. The personnel from New Market and Libertytown were presented with a unit citation for their actions on this complicated rescue.
