It is with heavy hearts the officers and members of the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department announce the passing of Chief Byron Lee on April 11, 2024. Chief Lee was a charter member helping organize the fire department in 1964 and served as chief of the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department from 1970 - 1973. He helped build the first tanker. He was also active in the Frederick County Chief's Association and served as a member of the Central Alarm Board. A celebration of life will be held at the Libertytown Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 1PM.
